چکیده
Communications between coronary arteries and the venous side of the circulation are a rare type of congenital malformation (2-7 per thousand in the experience of Gasul et al. (I960) and 4 per thousand in that of Nora, McNamara, and Fraser (I967)). Krause (i 865) first reported a case of coronary fistula, Abbott (I908) described the illness, and Biorck and Crafoord (I947) reported the continuous murmur. The right coronary artery is most usually affected, and the fistulae occur, in order of frequency, at the level of the right ventricle, right atrium, pulmonary artery, coronary sinus, and vena cava (Edwards, I958; Neufeld et al., I96I). The communicating artery is found to be considerably dilated, its course is tortuous, and there may be one communication or many.

CORONARY ARTERIOSYSTEMIC FISTULA
Coronary arteriosystemic fistula which drains into the left ventricular cavity is a rare congenital anomaly. A case of double fistulae between the left anterior descending and left circumflex coronary arteries and left ventricular cavity is presented. The patient's chief complaint, chest pain, was attributable to the "steal phenomenon."
متن کاملCoronary arteriovenous fistulae: the complexity of coronary artery-to-coronary sinus connections.
Coronary artery fistulae are a rare cardiovascular anomaly. Even less common are multiple fistulae involving more than 1 coronary artery. Herein we report the case of a 47-year-old woman who had fistulae from both the right coronary and left circumflex coronary arteries draining into the coronary sinus. These lesions we attempted to close percutaneously but subsequently closed surgically. We di...
متن کاملNode-First Kawasaki Disease Presented with Marked Pancarditis: a Case Report
Kawasaki disease is an acute inflammatory disorder of medium-sized arteries that predominantly affects cardiac coronary arteries and children under the age of 5 years. Cardiac involvement usually happens later than 10 days after the onset of illness. Most of cardiac complications are coronary artery abnormalities (ectasia or aneurysms) and subclinical myocarditis. Clinical myocarditis (symptoma...
متن کاملPrevalence of Atherosclerotic Plaques in Autopsy Cases with Noncardiac Death
Background and Objective: Ischemic heart disease (IHD) following atherosclerosis is the most common cause of cardiac deaths world wide. We aimed to investigate the pathologic features of atherosclerosis in non cardiac death cases to have an estimate of atherosclerosis prevalence in Mashad (North east of Iran). Patients and Methods : This descriptive (cross sectional) study was done, during ...
متن کاملAssociation Between Left Anterior Descending Artery Length with Coronary Artery Dominance: An Angiographic Study
Introduction: Although left anterior descending (LAD) artery supplies a large portion of the myocardium, the amount of blood supply provided by LAD is depended on the length of the LAD. The aim of the current study was to evaluate the association between coronary artery dominance and LAD anatomic types in patients with normal epicardial coronary arteries. Methods:...
